After five months of having this website up and scrapping my work several times over, I finally have a blog. I don't know how to feel about it because it strays so much from my usual style...

I was super inspired by MUKEI's old Mayura blog and FC2 blogs in general... and I wanted to try making a 2000s moe-styled page. The Mayura blog had these really cute chat-style dialogue blocks with Mayura and Kuro, so I had the idea to make some Mayura emotes by cropping the faces of one of her shells. They'll be on the side of the post's excerpt card to show what the mood of the post is. I love the idea of having a sidebar, makes me think of scrapbooks or marginalia. I'm also happy with the photo calendar.

I suppose that explains why this layout is so cute and lighthearted compared to the rest of my website but it was sort of stressing me out because I want everything to be cohesive and stuff... and I wish I could come up with a dark theme... but I've been really stressed and burnt out working on my website recently. I probably would've never finished this page if I didn't have my friends to reassure me and give me feedback. I've been hating everything I create.

I'm going to be making myself take a break from website work and focus on drawing and getting into 3D modeling. I've never really kept a blog or done much writing before but I hope it doesn't end up getting abandoned. It's also good writing practice; I feel like the way that I write online is really embarrassingly robotic and it makes me writhe. I don't speak like this at all when I'm with my friends.

Anyway I genuinely forgot what else I was going to write in this post because I was writing it while coding the rest of the blog layout. Nobody asked or cares but here is an iteration timeline of because I figured someone might find it interesting. God idk why this was so painful... it felt like homework...

Something else I wanted to talk about was WebTiles. I had so much fun making my tile and watching other people set theirs up!! I love seeing the collaborations and I've seen so many cute and creative tiles.

I doubt mine's going to stay up with the clans and whatever new features are being added. I think repeating the event every year with everyone making new tiles would be a better idea to keep the website alive but idk.

Either way, since I'm taking a break from doing website stuff, I'm probably not going to participate further.

I still really loved the event, and I hope something new happens again next year! Here is a link to my tile.

Anyway that's all so bye and also thank you to my friend MLG for helping me figure out the comment widget because I'm tupid and couldn't figure it out. And here's the song I listened to on repeat while writing this.
The sleeping Mayura gif on the comment box was made for me by Bobby, I love him so much.
